Brian  – A love for dance

Brian is a dance teacher based in Co. Mayo who travels across the country illustrating many types of dances to various age groups.

Brian was brought up in Tourmakeady, a small village on the shores of Lough Mask in the West of Ireland.

Tourmakeady was originally made famous by native actor & one of Ireland’s best known TV personalities Mick Lally, whose role as “Miley”  in the RTÉ series Glenroe made him a household name. More recently, in 2012, well known country artist Nathan Carter released “Back to Tourmakeady”, which features on his award winning album Wagon Wheel.

Following in the footsteps of his brother John (who had been involved in the dancing scene for many years), Brian also travelled the length and breadth of the country dancing to every band and meeting new people. He studied the art of country dancing for quite some time before taking up a teaching role and now prides himself on teaching country dancing through simple, easy to learn steps. This in turn has inspired the release of his first dancing DVD “Step It Out – Jive”

  • “Brian thanks you so much for showing me how to dance. The time you spent with me and all of the class doesn’t go unnoticed. You have given me great confidence in my dancing.

  • “Thank you so much for our dance Brian. We had so much fun learning it. We even danced it at the wedding. The bride is still talking about our dance.”

    Mary from Donegal
  • "We were part of a hen party that had organised a jiving class with Brian. All the group had a great laugh over the hour and a half lesson and it was a great activity for everyone to get to know each other. Brian was great Craic and kept us all on our toes. The steps will surely come in handy for the wedding.  Thanks again Brian, we would definitely recommend this activity to our friends."
    Maire from Leenane
